Internships
Senator Ken Cuccinelli’s Internship Program is designed to give students interested in public service an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the Virginia General Assembly and how a Senatorial office works. Interns experience the fast-paced and exciting atmosphere of our office and participate in advancing our legislative priorities in the public square. Senator Cuccinelli’s office is on the cutting edge of creating more responsive and less intrusive government in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Opportunities and Responsibilities
Students are invited to join Senator Cuccinelli’s small and dedicated office full time during the legislative session and 12-15 hours per week when the General Assembly is not session. Scheduling is flexible and is arranged through consultation with the Senator’s office. An intern’s day-to-day tasks include answering telephones, sorting mail, entering computer data, attending meetings, responding to constituent questions and assisting with special projects.
Internships Available
Internships are on a volunteer basis. Senator Cuccinelli supports students requesting credit for their internship through their college or university. Acceptance of applicants will be based on the commitment, merits and skills of the individual. High school seniors and college students are welcome to apply.
Senator Cuccinelli’s office provides a highly competitive and rewarding internship program that offers positions in the Centreville office during the spring, summer, and fall months and in the Richmond office during the legislative session. All internship positions are filled on an as-needed basis and applications are accepted year around. If you are interested in an internship, please complete the application form below.
